St Gemma’s University Teaching Hospice is the largest hospice in Yorkshire and one of the largest in the UK. The Hospice provides specialist palliative / end of life care and bereavement support to the people of Leeds.  We are a prominent and a well-respected charity at the heart of our local community with a large range of specialist services to support patients, families and friends.

Over 280 staff across a 4 acre site and 24 Charity Shops work together to ensure that patients and their families have the best possible experience and receive high quality palliative / end of life care and bereavement support.
We are looking for a compassionate, creative, enthusiastic and skilled individual to coordinate and expand our Hospice Bereavement Service.  You will lead and coordinate a range of bereavement support provided by our counsellors and volunteers, as well as managing a caseload of individuals / groups requiring bereavement support.
You will also work with the Family Support Team to develop and expand our service offering support with anticipatory grief to patients and loved ones. 
You will have outstanding interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and experience of counselling and therapeutic work.  A Diploma in Counselling and membership of a professional organisation (BACP) is essential.
You will be responsible for delivering Bereavement and Loss Awareness training to clinical staff within the Hospice, as well as working with the Academic Unit at St. Gemma’s to offer external training to professionals across the health & care setting.
We require some flexibility with the working pattern to facilitate very occasional evening or weekend sessions.
