Working with the high energy fundraising team is very rewarding and very varied! Volunteers are needed to help with numerous fundraising activities throughout the year and to distribute promotional material. You could find yourself running a stall at a fair, serving refreshments to hungry Midnight Walkers, selling a painting at the annual Art Exhibition or distributing flyers and posters to shops and businesses in your local area. Both regular and ad hoc volunteers are needed.
Whatever role you choose our friendly staff will provide full training and support throughout your time with us.
Become a Volunteer Stallholder
If you love making and collecting things, and know others that do too then why not group together and become a Volunteer Stallholder at our Seasonal Fairs; we have 4 seasonal fairs a year and we’re always looking for kind offerings from people to run their very own fundraising stall where the profits go towards patient care here at the Hospice. It can be anything from craft items, knitting, new/unused toiletries and gifts collected and donated, home-made giftwares, decorations, games to play – anything that can be sold & enjoyed.
Volunteer on the day of the fair
We have lots of helpful things that people can do at our fairs from manning a fundraising stall or tombola, serving refreshments, helping pack away at the end of the event, selling raffle tickets, taking donations at the entrance and many more.
Giving donations for fundraising stalls
We’re also looking for kind donations for our own St. Gemma’s fundraising stalls such as: soft toys/teddies, new gifts/sets/toiletries & books, bottles of spirits, wine & beer, fizzy pop & soft drinks, homemade cakes and baking on the day. Please leave at our Main Reception marked ‘Fairs’.
If you’re interested in any of these things at our Fairs then please contact us on 0113 218 5500 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Fundraising Event Volunteers
We hold internal and external event such as fairs, walks, runs, collections and exhibitions every month and we need people to help make sure the events run smoothly. Help is required with jobs such as manning a stall, serving refreshments, being a steward along an event route, selling raffle tickets and signing participants in and out. If you feel that you could spare the odd day, evening or couple of hours a month then we would love to hear from you. Once we have your details we will contact you once a month with details of upcoming events that we need help with, and you can let us know whether you are free.

Volunteers required to help distribute flyers
We are looking for volunteers who can visit local shops to hand out flyers & posters to display for our upcoming events in areas such as Horsforth, West Park, Chapel Allerton, Roundhay, Crossgates, Oakwood etc. This is a really valuable role as it is vital for promotion and is a fantastic way of getting the word out to the local community as it can take up a lot of staff time.
