Major Donor Manager

St Gemma's Hospice
Band 6 - £28,467 to £38,125 per annum
37.5 hours per week
St Gemma’s Hospice is one of the leading hospices in the UK.  The Hospice provides expert palliative and end of life care, in a quality environment, for thousands of local people each year.  It’s a prominent and respected charity at the heart of the local community with a large range of specialist services to support patients, their families and friends.
Working for St Gemma’s can offer a rewarding career in a friendly environment.  Over 250 staff across a 4 acre site, Retail Hub and 24 Charity Shops work together to ensure that patients and their families have the best possible experience and receive the highest quality of care, totally free of charge.
St Gemma’s Hospice is transforming the way in which it generates income and as part of the journey, we are looking to appoint a new Major Donor Manager to lead and deliver our strategy for Major Donor engagement. This high profile role will see the successful candidate establish, grow, develop and steward relationships with philanthropists, ensuring a tailored, inspiring and personalised journey with St Gemma’s Hospice.
You will develop high quality proposals to attract support across the range of Hospice services including a potential future capital appeal.  You will develop and deliver effective processes for keeping major donors up to date with the impact their generosity makes.
This role isn’t just about strategy; the team needs a ‘hands-on’, experienced fundraiser to bring passion and energy to our Major Donor programme. The successful candidate will be fully supported by the Head of Individual Giving and Director of Income Generation to drive results and to substantially grow our network across Leeds. This role also manages our Grants and Trusts Fundraiser so strong management skills are also required.
To be successful in this role you should have senior experience and a proven track record in securing major gifts, or strong, executive level business development experience. This role is about showcasing the Hospice to potential donors, showcasing the exceptional work that we do and highlighting the amazing impact people can make through supporting the Hospice.
This is a big role with lots to do. If you love talking to people and building relationships, then we would love to hear from you. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join an amazing organisation, build our major donor programme and work alongside some amazing colleagues with the full support and backing of the Hospice Leadership Team.
We are a Times Best Companies Top 100 employer and place high value on staff engagement and wellbeing.  We offer a competitive benefits package including free car parking and subsidised meals.
