St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds is the largest hospice in Yorkshire and one of the largest in the UK. The Hospice provides palliative and end of life care for local patients as well as support for their families and carers. Each year we support more than 3,000 local people.
This year the Income Generation team at St Gemma’s has an ambitious fundraising target of more than £6.9 million to help support these vital services. You will join a caring and talented team of fundraisers, with a passion for the work of the Hospice and for delivering an exceptional supporter experience.
The Senior Fundraiser (In Memory and Legacies) is responsible for nurturing relationships with our in memory supporters as well as promoting our in memory and legacy appeals and initiatives to a wide range of audiences.
We are looking for an experienced fundraiser with the following key attributes:

  • Able to listen and respond to donors’ needs

The role involves speaking with bereaved supporters on a regular basis so having strong communication skills, empathy and the ability to listen and respond with sensitivity is essential.
The role also manages our in memory appeals and initiatives therefore the successful candidate will need to be highly organised with strong IT skills and should have experience of creating effective marketing materials and experience of managing projects and events.

This role will be considered on  a full-time (37.5 hours) or part-time (30 hours) basis.
Starting salary dependent upon experience

Currently our Income Generation team are working 2-3 days at the Hospice each week and the remainder working from home. We hope to maintain this flexible model of working going forwards.
